RISAVIKA LNG Ferry Terminal
Demaco has acquired an order to build the vacuum insulated LNG transfer lines for a ferry bunker terminal operated by Skangass. The system will be realized in the Norwegian port of Risavika, near Stavanger. Demaco ‘s customer is Cryonorm Systems from Alphen aan den Rijn, which is also a Dutch company. Cryonorm Systems is the main contractor for installing this comprehensive bunker system.
Demaco will bring its cryogenic expertise to the project and will be responsible for the engineering, production and erection of the vacuum-isolated transfer lines within the LNG bunker terminal. Demaco and Cryonorm Systems will be setting up the system for Skangass to facilitate the loading of the Fjordline ferries that sail between Norway and Denmark. These ferries use LNG as fuel for their propulsion systems.
Demaco will supply and install approx. three quarters of a kilometre of transfer lines with process diameters ranging from 6” to 8” in Norway. The Terminal is scheduled to be operational in the fourth quarter of 2014.
